Stage 1 Tuning Explanation

Stage 1 tuning is an ECU recalibration designed for mostly stock vehicles, without requiring major hardware modifications.

🔧 What actually changes:

• Complete removal of the octane learning system, keeping boost consistent at all times
• Exhaust valve control based on driving mode (Eco = valves closed, Sport = valves open, etc.)
• Raising torque limiters to allow higher engine output
• Moderate boost increase (typically +2 to +4 PSI depending on fuel quality)
• Ignition timing optimization for maximum performance without risk
• AFR optimization under load
• Improved throttle response

• Noticeable increase in power and torque
• Faster throttle response
• No significant stress on engine components

• High-quality fuel recommended (95 or 98 RON)

🇺🇸 Stage 2 Tuning Explanation

Stage 2 is not just a “more aggressive tune”—it is a complete setup that relies on supporting hardware modifications.

🔧 What changes in tuning:

• Significantly higher boost levels compared to Stage 1
• Deeper adjustments to the torque model
• Different AFR targets due to increased airflow
• More precise wastegate and boost control tuning
• Full utilization of hardware upgrades to improve airflow

📈 Results:

• Substantial increase in power and torque
• Stronger performance, especially at higher RPM
• Better ability to maintain performance under sustained load

⚠️ Stage 2 Requirements

🔩 Required modifications:

• Downpipe → reduces backpressure and improves turbo efficiency
• Colder spark plugs → handle higher heat and boost safely
• High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) → ensures sufficient fuel delivery under high load
